What this project means & Why it matters

My experience with mental health challenges inspired me to apply for this project. As a hockey referee, I have been subjected to both verbal and physical abuse from coaches, athletes, and parents, which have worsened my anxiety symptoms and overall mental health. I am a strong believer that all leaders in sport deserve to have a positive experience, free of abuse. Through the CHAMPS Project, these individuals can increase their mental health literacy and receive the support they need.
