What this project means and Why it matters
There are thousands of active coaches working with athletes across Canada. Coaches can play an integral role in the mental health and well-being of athletes as they are the people who many athletes are spending their time with daily. A lot of work has been done to improve the mental health literacy of coaches at all levels of sport in Canada to better support the athletes they work with, and there is more to learn. With CAC’s reach across National Sport Organizations and provincial-territorial partners, this is a critical project and opportunity to be involved with to help mobilize the knowledge from High Performance coaches down to the grassroots. On a personal note, the knowledge I can gain through being involved in this project will always be helpful in my coaching practice.
