Dr. Gordon Bloom (McGill University) is a recognized leader in the study of coaching leadership and applied intervention design. Specifically, Dr. Bloom has an internationally recognized research program related to the knowledge, strategies, and behaviours employed by coaches in terms of leadership practices, mentoring, and team building that are designed to develop successful and well-balanced athletes. He directs the McGill Sport Psychology Research Laboratory, where his program of research focuses on the development, delivery, and evaluation of evidence-informed interventions that enhance coach performance and well-being. His work has been supported by multiple SSHRC Insight and SPRI grants, often conducted in collaboration with sport organizations, and he has an outstanding record of knowledge mobilization through workshops, applied manuals, and resources designed for coaches and leaders.
